It seems that Microsoft has been trying to win the rights of certain domains owned by a one Cheng Juan living in China. Back in May, Microsoft filed a dispute with the National Arbitration Forum against Cheng Juan and has now won back those domains. The domains Microsoft won back include:
XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, XboxCompanion.com, Xbox8.us and Xbox8.org.
The two most curious domains are the ones that have “Xbox 8” in them. We know that Microsoft wants to integrate Windows 8 with XBOX Live but why name the service Xbox 8? It seems like it has to be more than that though. There’s not much evidence that this is the next generation XBOX’s name but it’s sort of looking that way. Either that or I could just be crazy.

Would be sensible to use Xbox 8 as it ties into Windows 8 but then you figure that would be confusing as well.
