Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? Possibly Hollywood

If you were a kid in the 1980s and were lucky enough to have one of the first home PCs, there’s a good chance you were doing one of three things: making your first descent into porn addiction via America Online or Prodigy, dying of dysentery playing Oregon Trail, or chasing criminal mastermind Carmen Sandiego throughout the world, or the US, or time or space in the many iterations of Where In The World is Carmen Sandiego?

Admit it… you’ve never given up the chase, have you? You chased her along with three gumshoes on the mid-’90s PBS game show, and you tracked her down with Zack and Ivy in the later ’90s animated series. And yet, Carmen Sandiego still looms at large.

However, a new task force may have a line on Ms. Sandiego that will capture her forever… on the silver screen.

’80s babies rejoice, because according to the Hollywood Reporter, Hollywood producers are finally seriously kicking around the idea of a Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? Feature-length film. The rumored plot revolves around Carmen’s defection from the ACME Detective Agency and her descent into a life of crime. And one of the rumored producers and potential stars is none other then Jenny From The Block herself.

You heard correctly… J-Lo, better known as Jennifer Lopez, is eyeing the red trenchcoat and fedora herself. Carmen’s name and backstory has long hinted at some sort of Spanish or Latin descent, so Lopez would make a fitting potential criminal mastermind. I mean, she did force Gigli on all of us. That should be a felony in and of itself.

Allow me to make the first butt joke related to this project: “Turn around baby girl and let’s play a game called ‘Where In The World Is Dat Azz?’”

GotGame.com will definitely bring you more on this project as it develops. As long as you have enough evidence for a warrant.
