Admittedly, Blizzard hasn’t been on the best of stretches lately as it pertains to fan reception of their games. Diablo III, despite coming out of the gates with strong sales and equally strong buzz, has begun to wilt in the sunlight of its many updates. At Gamescom 2012, Blizzard looks to hopefully regain its favored status with a lineup that is comprised of expansions to two of their most popular titles: World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm.
Those in Germany for the event will be on sight for the world premiere of the opening cinematic for Mists of Pandaria at Blizzard’s booth on Thursday, August 16. In the same booth, players will, for the first time ever, be able to experience Heart of the Swarm and the new units it promises for the Terran, Protoss, and Zerg races in the game’s highly-touted multiplayer mode.
Diablo III will also be playable at the show for the few (such as myself) that have yet to disdain the game for its many deviations from franchise traditions.
