Guard That Dawn!
says: Computer and Video Games

JDL: The new Skrim DLC, Dawnguard will focus on a story that involves the vampire lord Harkon who is trying to use the Elder Scroll to…. blot out the sun.

Chris: Geez man! Was someone at Bethesda watching the Who Shot Mr. Burns episodes of The Simpsons again?

JDL: Players can become a vampire hunter and slay Harkon using crossbows (which take longer than the standard bow to reload but can stagger enemies) and armored trolls as followers.

Chris: It’s like Van Helsing, but better!

JDL: Players that end up becoming children of the night can become flying vampire lords and they can gain access to a Sith-like power known as Vampiric Grip that suspends enemies in the air while draining their health. Unfortunately, vampires will be attacked on sight, so players need to stick to a human form.

Chris: It’s like Underworld, but better!

JDL: And it seems no matter what alignment players choose, they’ll have access to new shout called Soul Tear which lets player steal souls and create undead companions.

Chris: Need more info? Here’s a list of Vampire and Werewolf perks, respectively.

Power of the Grave – 50 point bonus to health, magicka and stamina as a Vampire Lord.
Detect All Creatures – Requirement: Power of the Grave
Mist Form – Turn yourself into an invulnerable cloud of mist while regenerating your health, magicka, and stamina.

Vampiric Grip – Blood Magic: Can pull a creature to you from a distance, and do choking damage once it’s close.

ME3 DLC BS?

says: Computer and Video Games

JDL: Mass Effect 3’s Extended Cut DLC is available for free through Xbox Live.

Chris: And what a whopper it is weighing in at a whopping 1.9GB. Once again proving the PS3’s inferiority, European PS3 owners will have to wait an additional week for the free content. Wamp-wamp, so sad!

JDL: The add-on content expands on the endings of Mass Effect 3 and “provides more of the answers and closure that players have been asking for”.

Chris: An ending that needs to be explained? Ack, that doesn’t sound like part of a good game.

JDL: Agreed.
