Scrolls Closed Alpha Coming Soon, Paid Beta To Follow
After long hardships…mainly a lawsuit with Bethesda…Mojang’s new game Scrolls is “rapidly” approaching a closed alpha release. Said alpha version of the Scrolls game will include multiplayer, singleplayer, and a deck builder, but it seems more will come. Jakob Porser, Mojang co-founder and one of the team members working on Scrolls, mentioned in a blog post that the closed alpha will be “far from a feature complete version of the game”.
Once the game is more stable Mojang will release the paid beta version. Yes folks, they’re doing the same thing they did with Minecraft. You will eventually be able to get Scrolls at a discounted price in beta form. There is mention of “added benefits” with purchase of the Scrolls beta but what those are is still a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is some of the features that Mojang plans to add to the game over time such as an auction house, character customization, items, quests, and more.
I was late in the game to Minecraft, didn’t think I would still be playing it after awhile, but I am definitely not going to hesitate to purchase Scrolls.
