Square Enix is going to make a lot of gamers happy today, as the publisher has just released the downloadable demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D via the Nintendo eShop.

The demo will take place in Traverse Town, where Sora meets Neku (The World Ends With You).  Players will meet the Dream Eaters, who will either be allies in the form of Spirits or enemies in the form of Nightmares.

Sora is able to recruit Spirits like Meow Wow and Tama Sheep as allies and link with them to perform powerful combo attacks to defeat enemy Dream Eaters and a colossal Nightmare beast.

The demo also gives players the opportunity to try new gameplay features like “Flowmotion” and “Reality Shift.”

The game is available now for preorder at $59.99 for the “Mark of Mastery” Collector’s Edition and $39.99 for the standard edition.
