UPDATE: FINAL FANTASY 25th Anniversary Concert Coming to Chicago

by on June 20, 2012

I went to one of these “Distant Worlds: FINAL FANTASY” concerts when they came to the Dallas Texas Symphony Orchestra Hall a few years ago. Anyone that is a big fan of FINAL FANTASY games or just likes going to classical music concerts will be amazed by how wonderful this show is. I think anyone should see this. For those wondering, they do show video from the game to allow both fans and non fans to follow along with the beautiful music as well.

This year is FINAL FANTASY´S 25th Anniversary so Square-Enix wants to commemorate this seminal moment with unique pre-show events along with a special version of the Distant Worlds concert.

The concert will take place in Chicago, Illinois at the Akoo Theather (Formerly Known As the Rosemont Theather) on December 7, 2012 at 8:00PM. Square-Enix promises new HD video content that follows along with the music, which spans all across the FINAL FANTASY series.

UPDATE: Square-Enix will no longer be hosting the special pre-show event that would have taken place three hours before the concert for anyone that purchases a concert ticket. The art exhibit has been removed completely.

However, Square-Enix will still have the retrospective displays for each FINAL FANTASY title in the series available to look at in the lobby for all ticket purchasers. There are also still limited VIP tickets available that gives fans a chance to attend a meet & greet with FINAL FANTASY Conductor Arnie Roth and legendary FINAL FANTASY composer Nobuo Uematsu as well.

The Akoo Theater is located at 5400 N. River Rd. Chicago, IL USA. There will be a special pre-sale on June 26, 2012, which can be accessed by using the special code: “Kupo” Tickets go on sale for the general public a week later on July 3, 2012.

One last note, anyone who lives in Europe should know that Square-Enix is hosting a 25th Anniversary concert similar to this one, in London England on November 2, 2012 as well.
