“Iron” Mike Tyson Grapples with the Stars in WWE ’13

In the history of the WWE, there is no time more fondly remembered than the Attitude Era, a series of years that were highlighted by a consortium of colorful characters forced into even more colorful story lines. WWE ’13, the upcoming iteration upon the company’s annual video game franchise, is set to pay tribute to that period of wrestling history with its Live the Revolution campaign and a selection of superstars from both the WWE’s past and present. This morning, the more nostalgic of the two rosters was bolstered with the announcement that “Iron” Mike Tyson will be making his return to the virtual ring in WWE ’13.

Tyson’s inclusion is far from random; in fact, the boxing legend was recruited by the iconic D-Generation X stable, a group most famously headlined by WWE superstars Shawn Michaels and Triple H, to serve as an enforcer in the main event at Wrestlemania XIV between Michaels and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. As fate would have it, Tyson betrayed his presumed partners and helped Austin walk away with the company’s most prestigious championship.

Those wishing to play as the “Baddest Man on the Planet” will need to preorder WWE ’13 prior to its October 30 release date for either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Mike Tyson will always be one of my 80’s heroes. The guy’s a legend; he invented the 2 minute pay-per-view.
