UPDATE: A Square-Enix representative reached out to let us know that Nintendo updated the information about the image above.
Currently, Nintendo will only be extending digital releases for first-party titles only.
The representative was not sure if Nintendo will extend the digital release option to third-party titles as well in the future.
ORIGINAL: While it was already known that many first-party titles would be available to be downloaded for 3DS in August, Nintendo has revealed more titles that will be downloadable as well.
The screen above shows various third-party games that will be available digitally as well, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.
“We’ve got a massive list of AAA content on the way from all of the biggest names in gaming,” Fils-Aime said, “that are all proven franchises, all exclusive to our platform, and all coming to stores both in physical and digital formats in the second half of 2012.”
As you can see, it appears that Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Scribblenauts Unlimited and others will be available to be downloaded when they come out in retail.
