La-La Land Records announced today they will release the original soundtracks for two recently launched PlayStation 3 exclusive games, Starhawk and Sorcery
Christopher Lennertz is an award winning composer for film, television, and video games. Lennertz and composed the soundtrack for the Third Person Shooter Starhawk. Lennertz has composed scores for hit flims such as: Horrible Bosses, Think Like A Man, and The Comebacks. Lennertz also has experience in the video game arena with scores for huge games like Mass Effect 3 and Medal of Honor. If anything, Starhawk´s score is very immersive.
“From the beginning, I wanted to make sure that no matter how intense the action got,” said Lennertz, “the player would be immersed in the world of Starhawk and really become the character, Lennertz said.”
The PS Move has been pushed aside recently by Sony in favor of other titles. So, it was quite a surprise to see Sorcery hit the market on the PSN. Players need a wonderful score to go along with them as they traverse the magical lands. Mark Mancina was put in charge of composing the soundtrack for Sony´s newest PSN exclusive title. Mancina has a long list of big films on his resume including: Training Day, Speed, Bad Boys, Twister, and August Rush. So, Mancina was happy to go into a different avenue away from films to make a score for a video game.
“To my surprise, it was really an opportunity to flex my melodic side while being as creative and non-derivative as I wanted.
Both games are available now on Playstation 3. The soundtracks for the titles will be available via Amazon and other general retail outlets on June 19, 2012.
