Wii U Price 299.99 Maybe?

After E3, many wondered why Nintendo did not show off the full capabilities of their new console with a special secret game. So, it left a lot of speculation as to if the Wii U is really that much better than the current generation PS3 and Xbox 360? However, that could all be put to rest if Nintendo reveals a reasonable price for the system

According to unjadeable.com, Best Buy might have broken open the price bag a little bit earlier than Nintendo wanted.

An anonymous tipster, who is also probably an employee at Bestbuy, just sent the website a picture taken from a computer in one of Best Buy’s stores. It shows the white Wii U console at the price of $299.99. The anonymous tipster also mentioned that there are several pre-order SKUs for Wii U games, but none currently for the actual console.

Gamers can actually find this same picture and SKU by just doing a simple search of “Nintendo Wii U White Console” on Bestbuy.com, interestingly enough the only thing missing is the “Our Price” part that is included in the picture above. So, this may indicate we could be seeing this price slapped on Wii U boxes this holiday season, or might just be a error in Bestbuy´s file.

Though Nintendo has not announced anything officially, 300 bucks is not too shabby considering the inflated prices the Xbox 360 and PS3 had when they came out over five years ago. Nintendo Representative Reggie Fils-Aime did say at E3, the world would be pleasantly surprised by the final price. I wonder if this really is a surprise to most gamers out there.

This would sound about right….I’d have no issues with $299.
