Operation Shieldwall Comes to Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer This Weekend
Mass Effect is, as a franchise, well known for its ability to bring players back long after the credits have rolled, but typically that is due to a surge of new, single-player content. In the case of Mass Effect 3, the first of the series to expand into competitive multiplayer, users have found themselves coming back almost entirely for a series of N7 Bounty Weekends that present the community with a variety of challenges to overcome in the span of a little more than three days.
Beginning on Friday, May 25 at 6 pm PST and ending on Monday, May 28 at 5 am PST, Operation Shieldwall will task active Mass Effect 3 players with new challenges in order to earn valuable bonuses. A total of 50,000 characters must be promoted in order to reach the Allied Goal while only 3 characters must be promoted to achieve the Squad Goal; overcoming these obstacles will grant all players a Victory Pack and all squadmates a Commendation Pack, respectively. Accomplishment of either goal will be made more difficult in the wake of the community’s failure in last month’s Operation Silence, a fact that has caused more banshees to spawn bearing Reapers and other, equally imposing enemies.
Operation Shieldwall will be playable on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, and requires that players enable the Upload Gameplay Feedback feature in the online options menu.
