PlayStation Vita Goes Bananas with Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz in October

In the long, illustrious career of the video game industry, there have always been a selection of franchises that make their way to seemingly every console upon said hardware’s launch. Such an honor used to, and to some extent still does, belong to Ridge Racer, but the more modern example of this phenomenon is Super Monkey Ball, a delightful romp that squeezes adorable simian characters into minuscule balls which must be commandeered around a hearty helping of clever mazes. With the PlayStation Vita having launched earlier this year, it comes as little surprise that its first twelve months on the market will be supplemented by the newly announced Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz.

In Banana Splitz, players can choose to control either AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, and Baby across over 100 stages and eight mini games. The game will take advantage of the PlayStation Vita by implementing tilt controls that allow the user to twist and turn their handheld in a way that best propels them through any given level. On a similar note of utilizing the new hardware, players can use the system’s camera to convert real-world objects into their own custom stage. This version of Super Monkey Ball will also step into the online space with a multiplayer suite that pits friends against one another in a virtual puzzler.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz will launch exclusively for the PlayStation Vita on October 23.
