Blizzard Was Not Ready for Diablo 3 Launch

You could say it is a normal occurrence nowadays for things to go wrong at big launches. Star Wars: the Old Republic had a similar problem with servers at launch as Diablo III did on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, fans should at least be able to play the game and the server errors they experienced prevented them from doing so.

Blizzard admits in a letter linked by That Video Game Blog, that they could have been more prepared at launch.

“Despite very aggressive projections, our preparations for the launch of the game did not go far enough”

Blizzard says they are monitoring the game 24/7 and have applied various updated to help the servers and that they may even add improvements for each specific region if needed.

Blizzard has also decided to delay the launch of the real money auction house until further notice to lessen the stress on the servers.

In case anyone did not catch the introduction, Diablo is available in stores right now.

I’m surprised they didn’t expect the amount of traffic they got…I mean, the game was hyped up like crazy.
