Blizzard has been a bit coy about their plans regarding a console version of Diablo. They’ve beaten around the bush regarding their plans of bringing the hit PC franchise to consoles, and they’ve even begun hiring people for a console version. According to Director Jay Wilson, this doesn’t mean that the game is actually being made. In an interview with Gamasutra, Wilson said,
“Yeah. We haven’t officially announced it, because we’re not ‘experimenting. We tell people that basically we’re experimenting, because it helps us hire people. The better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it.”
Huh. Confusing wording aside, it seems that Blizzard is interested in a console version of Diablo III but isn’t ready to commit until they’re sure they have the right resources and people are in place. If you’re a Diablo fan who can’t play the PC version, you’ll have to have a little more patience.
