38 Studios Trying to Stay ‘Solvent’
38 Studios could be facing some big problems.
According to WPRI, the Rhode Island government is working with the studio to help it stay “solvent,” according to Governor Lincoln Chafee.
“We’re concerned and just doing everything possible to ensure that 38 Studios stays part of the Rhode Island community,” Governor Chafee said. “We’re working on different issues with them.”
The site also reports that auditors last June reported a “going concern” with the studio, and had “substantial doubt” that the company could stay solvent.
The studio released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning early this year, selling over 410,000 copies shortly after its release.
38 Studios also has a Project Copernicus MMO planned, but no word has been said about the game yet.
