Prequel Story Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha Now on Youtube
With a scheduled release date of May 22, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is well upon us. In a further effort to promote the title’s upcoming launch, Ubisoft has made available Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha, a short, 25-minute film that serves as a prequel to the game, on the official Ghost Recon Youtube page.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha sets the stage for Future Soldier as it tells the story of the Ghosts and their daunting mission, sneaking past enemy lines in an effort to bring down a notorious war criminal whose escapades have garnered him international attention. As it is a prequel, Alpha integrates the characters, story, and one of the settings from Future Soldier into its 25-minute running time: all four of the game’s protagonists serve as the leading roles in Alpha, the film itself happens moments before a crucial point in the title, and the setting of the movie serves as one of the maps for the Adversarial Mode multiplayer feature.
Ubisoft is not alone in its contribution to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Alpha; Hollywood is chipping in on the effort, too. A collection of gifted talent, a group that includes Academy Award winners for such films as District 9, The Bourne Ultimatum, and perhaps most relevantly Black Hawk Down, helms Alpha’s production crew.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be available on May 22 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A release for the PC will follow shortly after on June 12.
