Bioshock Infinite Delayed Until February 2013

There is some sad news on the Bioshock Infinite front today, as 2K Games has announced that the game has been delayed and won’t be releasing until February 26, 2013.

In a statement, Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games, said,

“When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve uncovered opportunities to make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need to deliver the best Infinite possible, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February.”

In development by Irrational Games, Bioshock Infinite was a hit at last year’s E3, with gamers taking the role as Booker DeWitt, a former Pinkerton agent who is on a mission to save Elizabeth in Columbiato.  The city in the sky provides gamers with a brand new setting and a new cast of characters.

The game will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Disappointing but understandable. 2K has Borderlands 2 the month before, so why not give Irrational more time to add some polish and make it a stronger contender for 2013 GOTY.

I totally with you there. Give them the time to polish meanwhile I’ll just play the shit out of Borderlands 2.
