The movie proved to be a fantastic send up to the comic-book industry that invigorated not only hardcore fans but also those who would describe themselves as casual observers. However, in all of the buzz that followed the film’s release there was one thing missing: a video game.

Though it may be true that film-to-game adaptions follow a disturbing curve towards inadequacy, it is also true that The Avengers, with its multiple heroes and jaw dropping action sequences, is a natural fit for the medium. According to Nintendo Universe, Ubisoft seconds that notion; the acclaimed publisher has officially registered a domain for a project by the name of Avengers: Battle for Earth.

Not revealed in this registration are any concrete facts regarding the title. Obviously, it is a game revolving around The Avengers, but its platform, genre, price, and release date are all left to further speculation.
