Nintendo Releasing a Purple 3DS on May 20
Perhaps in time for the warmer weather of spring, Nintendo announced this morning that they will be releasing a new color for the Nintendo 3DS – Midnight Purple.
The new color is set to be released on the same day as Mario Tennis Open, making for a nice little two-hit combo for those picking it up as a gift or for those who don’t yet have a 3DS.
As with the other 3DS systems, the Midnight Purple edition will be available for $169.99 and is now the fifth color being offered – the others being Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Flame Red and Pearl Pink.

Is this Purple 3DS in honor of Waluigi, the best character available to play as in Mario Tennis Open?
Lol. It probably is. Would’ve been a nice touch to add the W on the back of the case.
