StarCraft II Invades Anaheim, CA this Summer [MLG]
Anaheim, CA is the place to be this time of year if you’re an esports fan. Not only will there be MLG’s Spring Championship and Blizzard’s StarCraft II World Championship Series, but attendees will also be able to play StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm.
The Anaheim Conventer Center, in Anaheim California (obviously), will be the host to these three major events which will last from June 8-10. In the MLG Spring Championship StarCraft II competitors will duke it out for a chance to win $76,000 in prize money with first place taking a whopping $25,000 of that. Blizzard’s StarCraft II World Championship Series players will be competing for a smaller but still satisfactory $30,000 in prize money and invitations to the North American continental finals for the series.
Heart of the Swarm is the first expansion for Wings of Liberty and will feature a new single-player campaign. This campaign will allow gamers to evolve their swarsm with unique units and abilities which are campaign-only. Also, Kerrigan will player a major role in each of the campaign battles. A powerful hero, Kerrigan’s strength will increase and she will earn new potent abilities. There will be new multiplayer units and maps coming as well as upgrades to Battle.net.
