Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Brings Fighting, Flicking to iOS Devices Today
There was a time in which access to Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a rarity, but this was a time well before digital distribution revolutionized the gaming industry. Now, owning Capcom’s opus is as simple as possessing a Playstation 3, Xbox 360, or, as of today, an iOS device.
As recently as last week, Capcom announced their intention to release Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Apple’s line of smart phones, tablets, and MP3 players. The classic fighting game remains true to its roots in the transition to a portable device as it changes only in regards to the title’s control scheme; commands, due to the inherent lack of buttons that accompanies a touch screen focused interface, are issued through strategic flicks across the screen. This new mechanic allows for casual and hardcore players alike to implement the chaotic moves upon which the franchise is built more regularly into their repertoire.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2, with its 56-character roster and variable system intact, is now available for iOS devices for the discounted price of $2.99. This discount lasts until May 6 when the title is given its official price tag of $4.99.
