Microsoft Says No to Changing Their Xbox Live Pay Model

Microsoft UK officials say a micro transaction model, similar to what Sony uses on the PSN and PS Vita, has potential, but they as a company are not interested in pursuing that model.

Microsoft´s Xbox Live UK Product Manager Pav Bhardwaj says Microsoft´s model is just fine.

I think the model we’ve got at the moment with Xbox Live Points is what we’re working to at the moment. It’s really successful for everybody. People are really pleased with it and everyone understands it, which is the most important part of it all. So we wouldn’t change it at the moment.

Even though many gamers have complained of having to overpay for MS points, I guess the previous rumors of them removing the point system were unfounded. They did remove the points system with their Games on Demand service though.

Microsoft is currently using Xbox Live to promote their next set of big arcade games that will hit the marketplace soon.  Those titles include:  Minecraft, Fable: Heroes, Bloodforge, and Trials Evolution (which came out today.)
