16th Annual Webby Awards Honor Interactive Advertising in Games

by on April 10, 2012

If I were to poll the Got Game community on what it thought of in-game advertising, I would likely receive a variety of responses riddled with more negativity than an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Simply put, it isn’t a subject that followers of the industry tend to smile upon. Clearly, that doesn’t speak for the entirety of the fan base as the upcoming 16th Annual Webby Awards are set to honor such titles as Domino’s Pizza Hero and Nike Fight Winter for their implementation of interactive advertising into the diverse gaming landscape.

This year’s edition of the Webby Awards, hosted by acclaimed comedian and actor Patton Oswalt, has opened up voting for its May 21 broadcast which takes place in the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom. Winners will be announced in advance of that date on May 1, but those looking to see a ceremony honoring the winners will have to tune in to the later of those two dates at 5:30 PM EST.
