Preview | Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit
French developers Arkedo have an off-beat platformer up their sleeves in Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. As the rabbit prince of hell, you’re on a romp through the underworld to punish those who posted some compromising pictures of you getting to… know yourself… in the bathtub.
The one word to best describe Hell Yeah!‘s offerings is Metroidvania. It’s fun, no doubt. Equipped with a jetpack/spinning blade hybrid, you’re granted some serious mobility to bounce around the game’s cavernous and sealed-off rooms. You’ll dash from one area to another, dispatching mini-bosses with one of over 30 quick-time events (they’re clever and diverse, I promise).
Once you’ve slain enough, portals unlock and you’re on your way. Yup, Hell Yeah! is a platformer, but a dungeon crawl as well, complete with a currency system, loads of upgrades, and an ever-available map of your hellish environs.
You can get your paws on the game–self-styled “Ren & Stimpy toilet humor” and all–this summer for XBLA, PSN, and PC.
