Recently I got to check out Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir a game developed by Tecmo Koei and being published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS system. In the main story of the game you the player find the mysterious and cursed Purple Diary. You use the Camera Obscura (A.K.A. your 3DS) to help save the poor souls that have been trapped in the purple diary by the Woman in Black who is the main antagonist in the game. The Woman in Black steals the faces from her victims who are trapped in the Old House via the Purple Diary.

While playing through the story line you use the Purple Diary which is basically an AR book that the 3DS will react to. Circles will appear on the screen of your system and you have to align them so that you can progress the storyline at that particular time. Some times, but not always, you will have to manipulate the Purple Diary to move forward.

After lining up the circles or figuring out the puzzle, a ghostly presence may come out of the book and attack you. Don’t worry, the ghosts hate having their picture taken so click away with your Camera Obscura.

Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir is set to release in America on Friday the 13th of April 2012. Ooooh scary isn’t it dear readers? Maybe the ghosts will actually come out of your 3DS and then haunt YOU!
