Today, Sony Computer Entertainment America has crossed that barrier with PlayMemories, a unique image editing application that allows for viewing, organizing, and editing of high-definition audio/visual content.

Available now for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable via RemotePlay, PlayMemories is Sony’s premier venture into image editing on their popular home console. Users can manage their photos and videos with a set of tools that are both intuitive and fun; editing functionality allows players to manipulate their content with effects such as slow-motion or add in personal captions. When all is said and done, players can then upload their content to Facebook or the PlayMemories Online network to be shared with their friends and peers across the globe.

PlayMemories is now available for download on the Playstation Network for $15.
