Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime Celebrate 3DS Anniversary with Street Pass Visit

The Nintendo 3DS has now been available for an entire year. This can mean only one thing: it’s Reggie time!

In celebration of the Nintendo 3DS’s one-year anniversary, Reggie Fils-Aime plans to pay every one of the handheld’s Street Pass users a visit. No, the mythical figure of E3 lore will not be dropping by your house any time soon, but he will be stopping in to visit your own personal Mii Plaza.

By simply activating your system’s wireless and accessing the device’s Street Pass application, you can be host to Nintendo’s most revered public-relations wizard. His entrance comes accompanied by a special greeting message from Mr. Fils-Aime himself and access to such vital information as his current choice of game for his 3DS. It also grants you an Accomplishment for meeting a special person via Street Pass.

One can only wonder, though, how Nintendo plans to step up their presents after this year. If the first birthday gifts players with Reggie, then what does next year entail? Shigeru Miyamoto? Masahiro Sakurai? The drummer from the company’s ill-fated Wii Music presentation at E3 2008?

I saw him and thought, “Either play Kid Icarus with me, or get the hell out of my way.”

Or at least bring me the demo.
