Post-Apocalyptic Thriller I Am Alive Comes to the Playstation Network on April 3

If you didn’t already know that 2012 was the year of the apocalypse, then you would have no trouble learning that fact from the vast array of video games dealing in the subject matter set to launch during this calendar year. I Am Alive, a post-apocalyptic action-adventure title developed and published by Ubisoft, is yet another title within the genre that will now be surfacing on the Playstation Network on April 3.

I Am Alive takes place in the world as it exists after “The Event,” a mysterious occurrence that has left society in shambles. Players control an every man that lived to tell the tale but cannot discern the location of his wife or daughter. The game progresses as you search through the decimated environment and eventually reach the protagonist’s hometown of Haventon, a residence that has seen no shortage of “The Event’s” damaging effects.

A free companion app is available for iOS devices that provides players with a photo mode for creating I Am Alive themed pictures, the title’s original soundtrack, a street map of the area covered within the game, a list of resources, achievements, and trophies available to be unlocked, videos, and concept art created during the product’s development cycle.

I Am Alive will launch on the Playstation Network on April 3. It is already available on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).

Don’t remember where I saw it but it might have been IGN that gave it a bad score. It still interests me though; will have to try it out.

It would not be wrong to say that this game has had a poor reception…lol
