It seems that Apple has another winner on their hands, as the company announced today that it has sold over 3 million units already, since its launch on March 16.

“The new iPad is a blockbuster with three million sold―the strongest iPad launch yet,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Customers are loving the incredible new features of iPad, including the stunning Retina display, and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of even more customers around the world this Friday.”

That’s quite a bit of tablets to sell in just under 4 days wouldn’t you say?

You can bet that the new iPad will continue gaining steam this Friday when Apple releases it in over 20 additional countries.

The new iPad is priced just like previous iterations, at $499, $599 and $699 for 16, 32 and 64GB Wi-Fi versions respectively.  3G/Wi-Fi models start at $629 and up.
