Free Lunch Design acquires Dark Nebula
The critically acclaimed Dark Nebula series has been acquired by Swedish game developer Free Lunch Design – the studio behind the popular platformer Icy Tower. The games have been downloaded over 6 million times on iOS devices.
“With a huge fan base and great expectations for new episodes, it was incredibly important for me to find a buyer in which I had 100% confidence regarding creativity”, says Anders Hejdenberg, creator of Dark Nebula.
The games have been praised for a uniquely immersive game experience, within a classical labyrinth style game play. Dark Nebula 2 boasts a Metacritic score of 93 out of 100. The game is featured by Apple in their exclusive Hall of Fame, containing 75 of their favourite apps.
“We regard this as a vote of confidence. We love the game and feel privileged to carry on the legacy created by Anders. More info about the future of the series will be released shortly“, says Magnus Alm, CEO of Free Lunch Design.
To celebrate the occasion Dark Nebula 1 will be free and Dark Nebula 2 will be sold at half the price, during the weekend of Friday the 9th of March until Sunday the 11th of March.
