Medal of Honor Warfighter Marks Franchise’s Return in 2012
Medal of Honor, a series that once thrived in the second World War but transitioned to modern combat in a 2010 reboot, will return this fall with Medal of Honor Warfighter.
Warfighter will continue the franchise’s focus on modern warfare by taking the battle from the fronts in Afghanistan into such tumultuous regions as Somalia, a troubled territory most notable for an ongoing scourge of hostile pirates. However, the focus will remain on the country’s mission to eradicate the terrorist threat occupying the world at large.
Preacher, a U.S. Tier 1 Operator that serves as the game’s protagonist, arrives home to his family after years of deployment only to find the scars left on the family by his and the country’s presence in the war. Matters are only further complicated when a devastating bomb crosses into the civilian domain and forces Preacher’s worlds to become instantly intertwined.
Medal of Honor, as a member of the military first-person shooter genre, will be no different in its extensive inclusion of online multiplayer. Players will represent their country’s Tier 1 operators in a quest for global dominance that plays out through special “Blue vs Blue” matches pitting the world’s best against one another.
Players can pre-order Medal of Honor Warfighter to receive the U.S. Navy Seal Tier 1 sniper, a specialized gun made for the game’s competitive multiplayer mode that would normally take an extensive sum of hours to unlock, upon the title’s launch on October 23 for PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
