Here’s the Latest Trailer (and Details) for Medal of Honor: Warfighter
You’ve got to present your protagonists with a bit of mythology, EA knows. The latest Medal of Honor: Warfighter gives us an almost superstitious view of the Tier 1, elite forces that you’ll be incarnating when the game hits on October 23rd.
The next entry in the Medal of Honor franchise will have players countering terrorist forces across the globe, from hostage-takers in the Philippines to pirates off the Somali coast. What do you know? Yet another contemporary backdrop in the first-person shooter realm!
The twist, if it can be called so, is that you won’t just be an all-American Navy SEAL. Your threat will be global, and your assets similarly so. Polish elite forces, German, English… You’ll play as them all.
Ah, and the delicious Frostbite 2 engine will very much be in use. The gameplay segments that I had a chance to ogle made it obvious, as special forces breached into a flooded manor in the southern Philippines. It looks sharp, as you’d expect: distant grenade detonations set hanging chandeliers rocking, to name just one visual gem.
In terms of gameplay, Warfighter featured up to four breaching options for closed doors, a minimal HUD (only ammo displayed), and two ways to aim down the sights of a single weapon: conventional iron sights, or scope. We’ll see how it all comes together this fall.
