Mobile developer Halfbrick announced today that a content update for Jetpack Joyride is on the way next month, giving players more reasons to play around with ol’ Barry Steakfries.

“With over 16 million people playing Jetpack Joyride, we want to continue doing what we do best – awesome updates for our fans.” said Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick. “These achievements and gadgets bring an all-new layer of gameplay and customization that will provide our fans with a unique experience every time they fire up the game.”

The update will include all sorts of new gadgets, including:

• Air Barrys – Leap gracefully over obstacles with these designer sneakers.
• Ezy-Dodge Missiles – If you’re going to play a game of chicken with a missile, make sure it’s an Ezy-Dodge!
• Free Ride – Stop off at the motor pool before smashing through the laboratory wall. Why didn’t Barry think of this earlier?

The 1.3 update will hit the App Store as a free download in April.
