BioShock Infinite Release Date Announced
BioShock was a truly monumental achievement when it came to storytelling in games. The next entry in the BioShock series has received heavy praise since its debut, winning over 75 editorial awards at E3 2011. Many journalists within the gaming media have named BioShock Infinite as one of their most anticipated titles of 2012, and that includes this journalist right here. 2K games has announced that BioShock Infinite will be available on the X-Box 360, the Playstation 3, and the PC on October 16th.
BioShock Infinite places players in the role of Booker DeWitt, a former Pinkerton agent. Along with Elizabeth, a young girl with incredible powers, Booker struggles to escape from Columbia, a dystopian city that hovers over the United States in 1912. To escape, B0oker must utilize a new arsenal of weapons and his partner’s strange abilities. Booker will battle through expansive environments, and across the Skylines that run throughout Columbia.
Ken Levine, Creative Director of Irrational Games, says “After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition. BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”
I think I speak for many gamers when I say that the feeling is mutual.
