Japan’s 3DS eShop Gets Metroid on February 29

Metroid, the NES classic that first featured legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran, has long been available on the 3DS for members of the system’s Ambassador Program. It won’t be until February 29, though, that the game is made available to everyone in Japan via the 3DS eShop.

For the price of 500 yen ($6), players will be able to hop back into the Varia Suit and blast their way through Zebes in pursuit of Mother Brain.

An official American release for Metroid on the Nintendo 3DS has yet to be announced.

i wonder if the door bomb bug is still there. discovering all the hidden levels was always one of my favorite things do in that game after i beat it on one life to get samus to take off her helmet.

Based on Nintendo’s history with re-releases, I don’t think you have anything to worry about! 🙂
