Ebay And The Outrageous Skylanders Prices

Do you all remember stuff like Pokemon cards, Beanie babies, and the “gotta have em all” mentality that came with them? Well, it’s happening again. Ebay is being flooded with figures for the fairly new Skylanders game that came out about a  year ago. Prices seem to be hovering around the 200-400 range for the “rare” collectibles but have been known to go higher than $1,000 for some sets or more rare figures.

It’s things like these that I have to chuckle at. I remember the first really rare card that I had gotten. I was a bit of a sneak and traded a holo Chancey for a French Holographic Charizard my cousin had. I was young back then and have since learned the error of my ways, but I felt good dear readers. Consumerism gave me that highly satisfactory feeling of having something so rare. I felt special, one of a kind, a step above the rest if you will. It’s understandable that people are frantically trying to get these rare figures for their kids (or themselves). It’s not so romantic however when you realize that the person on the other side of the transaction is laughing all the way to the bank.

Leave a comment below talking about the most expensive purchase you have made in regards to collectibles (TCG, plush, Beanie Babies, that sort of stuff).
