EA Halts the Mass Effect 3 Pre-order Bonus Through Origin
Origin who is aiming to upset online download services like Steam recently had a deal for their customers who preordered Mass Effect 3. Included with their purchase of ME3, they would also receive a code that would grant them access to Battlefield 3, which is a pretty amazing deal. However, since they started that deal, it had run for roughly two days until it was shut down on the 16th, even though It was slanted to run through March 5th. Those of you that were lucky enough to get their hands on one of these deals, consider yourself lucky when you receive your code “By March 8th”.
So, it would seem to me that we are seeing an emerging pattern with EA going back on their word, again. Was it not just a few months ago where those who had preordered Battlefield 3 also received a free game? The threats of lawsuits that ensued after that did help some consumers get some form of settlement but, it was not in the form of the original promise. I understand that EA is a business and in order to succeed, you cant be giving your stuff away for free all the time. But at least have the integrity to do what you say and mean it when you say it.
I love the demo by the way.
