PS Vita Launch Day Game Guide

So as many of you know the PS Vita has already dropped at least the first edition bundle has, for those not buying that you have to wait till Wednesday. So I, Tim St. Croix, am here to gift you with a run down of games you may want for the PS Vita, at least in my opinion. Now first things first, there will be a total of 22 games available on the official Launch day which is the 22nd. Of those 22 only 8 will be official SCEA titles, 3 of which are PSN only. The remaining are 3rd party titles from some of the biggest names in video games so have no fear about quality with names like Square Enix, Capcom, Ubisoft and Sega this should be one of the most impressive launch debuts in recent memory. Now as is my thing I am going to run down what in my opinion will be the top 10 launch day titles to own.

Number 10

Army Corps of Hell (Square Enix, Inc)

This is pretty much Pikmin with demons and I gotta say Pikmin was pretty damn addicting so this should be pretty sweet.

Number 9

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (SCEA)

What can I say Hot Shots has pretty much been a staple on every Playstation system launched since the PS2 so you know what to expect and that is just really decent golf in a fun way.

Number 8

Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Capcom Entertainment, Inc.)

It’s a fighting game and it looks gorgeous to boot plus its Marvel vs Capcom 3 what more can you ask for?

Number 7

Plants vs Zombies (Sony Online Entertainment LLC)

If for some obscure reason you have not played this awesome game yet, like maybe you were in a coma or living under a rock, then now is the time to do so.

Number 6

Rayman Origins (Ubisoft, Inc.)

What can I say about Rayman Origins that hasn’t already been said in several reviews not to mention that above is a vita screenshot and once again I have to say it looks gorgeous so seriously this should be a purchase if you are a fan of platformers.

Number 5

wipEout 2048 (SCEA)

Again SCEA drops another staple of the Playstation universe, it’s a racing game not much more to it than that but it’s a solid racing game and that is more than can be said for many other games of the genre.

Number 4

ModNation Racers: Road trip (SCEA)

You’ve no doubt seen the live tech demos, you’ve also no doubt heard of the original on PS3 maybe even played it, if so and if you were a fan, than this port should be a welcome addition to the Vita library.

Number 3

Escape Plan (SCEA)

Everything from the art style to the clever game play even the music makes this title a must have first download on your Vita. I could not recommend it more.

Number 2

Lumines Electronic Symphony (Ubisoft, Inc)

What was perhaps the most fun and addicting time sink on the PSP returns, this time for the vita. I cannot even tell you how many hours I lost playing this seemingly simple but addicting puzzle game, a must have!

Number 1

UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss (SCEA)

How could you not know this was gonna be number 1, I mean come on it’s Nathan Drake it’s Uncharted and lets be honest there is no better triple A action adventure title out there than Uncharted and with it debuting alongside the Vita on launch day it should make the system a strong seller right out of the gate.

So there you go there are my recommendations for launch day titles to pickup along with your shiny new handheld. It looks like one of the strongest launches of a major new console/handheld in recent memory and Sony rarely disappoints. With that said I cannot wait till the 22nd and I’m sure neither can most of you!
