Zenimax Media announced on Wednesday, that the recently released Creation Kit for the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been well received by gamers, who have downloaded more than 2 million mods via the Skyrim Workshop. The company says that over 2,500 mods have already been published by the gaming community.
Meanwhile, Skyrim has continued to generate huge revenues for Bethesda, going strong as the second best selling game of 2011 and generating approximately $650 million in sales across all platforms.
Steam has also been reporting record numbers as the PC version of the game, which is available via the service, has outsold all other PC games by 3 to 1 during the month of its release, making it the fastest selling game in Steam’s history. As for the console versions, they have outsold all console exclusive titles on both the Xbox 360 and PS3. Apparently gamers really dig Skyrim!
