World Of Warcraft Themed Monopoly and a Starcraft Themed Risk Are On Their Way

USAopoly has announced a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment to bring gamers and board gamers some board games with a Blizzard twist. A World of Warcraft edition of Monopoly and a StarCraft edition of RISK will combine some of history’s most beloved board games with some of today’s top gaming franchises.

MONOPOLY: World of Warcraft is a battle for control over some of Wow’s most famous locations. Players can purchase locales such as Twilight Highlands, Grizzly Hills and the Swamp of Sorrows. Players will buy, sell and trade, until one player controls the lands of Orgrimmar and Stormwind. If you’ll be at the Toy Fair in NYC, you’re in luck! You can check out this game or if you’re a World of Warcraft player already, you can catch a sneak peek of the game via the World of Warcraft Facebook page and vote on the player tokens that’ll be included in the final product. Ten options will be available to choose, including Murky, Chen’s Keg, Mechagnome, and a Spellbook. The six tokens that receive the most feedback will make it into the game when it launches this May.

Need more attention to detail? How about custom sculpted houses and hotels (Warcraft towns and cities, respectively) plus red and blue die representing the Horde and Alliance factions respectively? The game is set to retail for $39.95 and will be available in specialty stores across North America.

As for RISK: Starcraft, players will choose from the Terran, Protoss or Zerg factions and six unique heroes in order to bring peace (or Zerg-rushs) to the universe. While further details are sparse right now, it’s known that RISK: Starcraft also boasts 3 modes of play and over 290 custom playing pieces. More details will be revealed as the game’s summer release date nears and will be available in specialty stores throughout North America for $49.45.

Both sound pretty sweet. I just might get the Starcraft 2 Edition of RISK even though I’m not much of a RISK player.
