Activision Announces a New Call of Duty for 2012

As if there were any doubt, a new Call of Duty game will be released in 2012. Activision issued this statement during its fourth-quarter earnings statement today, confirming that the yearly-release schedule in the best-selling war-based shooter series will continue.

No additional information about the title, its name, or any other details were revealed during the statement. With rumors of Black Ops 2 running around the internet, many are expecting a follow-up to the zombie-infested, Vietnam-era shooter released in 2010 by Treyarch.

Only time will tell what this game will offer and where it will fit into the Call of Duty series.

Personally, I’d prefer to see the game stay “current” for two years.
