The Simpsons Arcade Game Hits Xbox Live Arcade

Konami has finally released The Simpsons Arcade Game on Xbox Live Arcade!

The classic arcade game, which many of us remember from local arcades or even Chuck E. Cheese (admit it!) has landed in lieu of The Simpsons’ upcoming 500th TV episode, which airs on Sunday night.

Gamers will be able to choose from Homer, Bart, Lisa or Marge in both online or offline four-player co-op in order to save Maggie from the grips Mr. Burns and Smithers.  The game will offer up a handful of modes such as Quarters Mode which will recreate the original co-op game.  Survival Mode lets players sweat it out with only one life available, while Free Play Mode gives players unlimited continues for a slightly easier experience.

Additionally, the Japanese version of The Simpsons Arcade Game, which includes new weapons, higher scoring and an alternate ending, comes included.

Developed by Backbone Entertainment, the game can be downloaded right now from the Xbox Live Marketplace (800 MS Points) and then from the PlayStation Network on Feb. 7. for $9.99.

I was actually one of those kids who used to play the game at Chuck E. Cheese.

Same here! Everytime I went to Malibu, this was the first game I would hop on to play with my bro.
