Valve Looking for Linux Programmer

by on January 20, 2012

It looks like Valve might is continuing to expand the presence of their Steam digital distribution system. At least, if you read between the lines of their latest employment opportunity. The position calls for a senior software engineer, which is not uncommon for a software developer to be on the lookout for. But what makes this interesting is the responsibilities list.

Of the responsibilities that the senior software engineer will be in charge of, one is to “Port Windows-based games to the Linux platform.” Yep, that’s not a veiled look into things to come at all. So it looks like Linux users won’t be Steam-less for much longer. Hooray!
