Microsoft Says Xbox Live is Secure

Despite the swirling rumors that there have been security breaches in the Xbox Live system, Microsoft is denying that there are any issues to the system itself. They’ve deflected to say that the issue is that of the user. So it’s your fault their system was hacked. Duh.

Microsoft released the following statement about the issue: “Microsoft can confirm that there has been no breach to the security of our Xbox Live service. The online safety of Xbox Live members remains of the utmost importance, which is why we consistently take measures to protect Xbox Live against ever-changing threats…Online fraud and identity theft are industry-wide problems, and as such people using any online services should set strong passwords, not share those passwords across multiple services and refrain from sharing any personal details that could leave them vulnerable.”

Everyone ready for the Sony-Playstation 3 breach moment of, “Wait, they knew the whole time and acted like it was fine?!” I have a feeling it’s coming soon.
