Playstation honcho, the capo, the godfather, Kaz Hirai announced that at this years E3 there will be no Playstation 4 reveal.  Echoing sentiments and statements made before he mentioned the 10 year life cycle of the PS3.  Despite rumours that they would attempt to battle or to show up the Wii U like many were expecting. Except for me, that is, I never expected jack. What this also means is that most likely, much like the PS2, it will have a cycle that extends into the next gen of consoles coming along. Also, you should not expect it due out exactly at the ten year mark. That would be kind of ridiculous, besides why fix what ain’t broke?
