As Electronic Arts prepares to reboot their snowboarding franchise, SSX, in March, they wanted to grab up the domain name for SSX.com. A simple request, except for one thing: It’s owned by someone else. Specifically, Abstract Holdings International LTD, who purchased the domain along with tons of others as part of a $200,000 domain name portfolio purchase.
EA, stating that the domain had been registered in “bad faith,” sued for the rights to the domain through the National Arbitration Forum. Well, the National Arbitration Forum decided that their argument was invalid. The domain will be staying with Abstract Holdings International. Sorry, but you can’t always have your way, EA.
