Taylor Veltrop is a software engineer who came up with a great way to appease our kitteh overlords: a robot that can brush cats. Well it could possibly do more than that but we don’t have to let basement cat know that. Anyways, below is a video of Veltrop showcasing his robot in action. As you can tell from watching the video the set up includes more than just the robot, kinect, and wii. There is a head mounted display which allows Veltrop to see what the robot sees and a treadmill (for obvious reasons).
What Veltrop has done here may not seem incredible to some of you, but it is actually a fantastic feat. Lots of hard work and dedication went into this project and it’s not easy to program a robot. Robots have to be told what to do and programming them to do what we take for granted is no small accomplishment.
Soon our kitteh overlords will be taken over by the new robot overlords. (with the cat robots in charge at that point)
