For as innovative and creative as Nintendo often is, they sure are struggling with this whole “online gaming” thing. It’s a system that has nearly been perfected by Microsoft for consoles and even has a solid offering from Sony. It’s been mastered on the PC by Valve’s Steam and other services. Yet Nintendo is, according to Shigeru Miyamoto, “continuing to experiment.”

“It’s true that for many years, Nintendo has been said to have been slow in online applications. And I think that’s been said for 10 years or more – even before Microsoft entered into the video game industry. But the fact of the matter is that Nintendo has always been involved in the network business in one way or another,” Miyamoto stated.

We’re sure when Nintendo gets around to it, it’ll produce a fine service. As long as it doesn’t have the Wii’s friend codes. Wow, was that terrible.
