Best Download of 2011 Award
If you’re a gamer on a budget, you’re always looking for the best “bang for your buck” type games. Something that you’re going to get tons of content and play time out of for the smallest price possible. Luckily, downloadable games have made this far easier to find. While we’ve all logged way too many hours into simplistic games like Angry Birds, the best downloadable title offer something much more than that.
Bastion is one of the few games that will have you finding it difficult to put down the controller and walk away. With an immersive world full of vibrant color and detail, the game is just too pretty to look away from. Watching it has the same effect as re-reading your favorite children’s book: all the bright colors and fond memories just stick with you after putting it down. And that doesn’t even say anything about the gameplay. With a full leveling and upgrade system and tons of other little tweakable options, the game never feels like it’s getting old. It’s available on the Xbox Live Marketplace and on Steam, but you can snag it in your Google Chrome browser as well, so there is really no excuse not to revel in the beauty of this game.
